Christmas in the Foothills has been an annual event in Hillsboro for decades. Beginning many years ago as an art show and thank you from artists in Hillsboro to the supportive local community, the event has since grown into a gathering of the community with an art raffle, food, and artisans selling their wares.

Paintings, cards, gifts, pottery, quilts…all sorts of handmade wares are available for sale. Food will be available in the Community Center’s kitchen, and event attendees can also participate in the famous $49.99 Art Show/Sale. Tickets are sold for a raffle drawing on each piece of art, and the raffle winner will buy the art piece for a mere $49.99. Proceeds from the ticket sales go to local charities and giving organizations.

In addition to the festivities, each year local artists submit their art to be selected for the official Christmas in the Foothills poster. For 2019, the honor goes to Devon D’Shaun for her photograph of a local horse and a resident’s granddaughter:

A special print on canvas of this year’s winner will also be our annual raffle prize.

Christmas in the Foothills takes place in the Hillsboro Community Center from 10am-4pm on the first Saturday of every December. This year’s event will be on Saturday, December 7th, 2019. Everybody is invited to the event to experience the art, food, and fun!

Below are some of the posters from previous years, many of which will be available for sale the day of the festivities:
